This little boy....
Once again I find him lethargic, can't hold his eyes open. He can't stay awake long enough to drink his orange juice, to eat a cereal bar. I keep talking to him, he can't stay awake. Again? Lord? His sugar is too low, again, we think. I finally get a cup of juice in him, without any results. I fill another cup. Still after an hour, he's still lethargic, can't hold his eyes open. I get a tube of oral glucose, he takes it reluctantly. Finally after another 30 minutes he comes around. He's back to his bubbly 2 yr old self.
My Zachary. What you do to me. Love. Fear. Laughter. Stress. Anxiety. Tears. Joy. You've humbled me. And I long to know what's wrong, why do you do this?
We have an appointment with a pediatric endocrinologist in Knoxville after concern floods our pediatrician. "This is twice", he says, "That's too many times".
Okay. I can do this. He's my son, I'll do whatever I have to do.
I'm reminded of the anguish God felt when watching his son, suffering, hurting. The heartbreak He felt was too much to bear. I know God will take care of us, of Zachary. He knows what we're going through. He loves us.
Zachary's the one that will make me gray before I'm 40, he's...well, he's just Zac! He's the spark plug to our family.
Please pray for him and the doctors that they will discover what is causing this and that it is nothing serious.
Oh Angie, I am so sorry to hear about your sweet Zachory.. but I know God has a plan for him and his 2 wonderful parents!! He could not have been given to 2 more gifted and talented nurses and caring people who are able to love him and care for him perfectly in what ever the future holds to keep his sugar perfect!!!! I just wish you guys were closer so that I could hug you and help in some way!! I miss you and can not imagine how hard this must be.. All your children are beautiful and I will be praying for this precious one especially!!
